Counselors' Corner

The focus of the Castleberry High School Counseling Department is to assist all students in maximizing their full potential by guiding them toward emotional well-being; supporting them in the educational process; connecting them with available resources and leading them to be citizens who contribute positively to society.

Good afternoon,

As we near the end of the Fall semester, we are once again able to look at schedule change requests for the Spring semester. Please realize that there are some limitations to these requests based on graduation requirements and that not all requests will be approved. All CTE drop requests will be approved or denied by Mrs. Martinez and all TSTC drops MUST go through Mrs. Martinez, not this drop form. For ALL other schedule change requests, you will need to fill out this form:

https://forms.gle/7Y9FrZXw1vo9r1zP8

If you are wanting to drop an advanced academics class such as OnRamps, Advanced Placement (AP), or Honors, you will need to fill out this additional form as well to be considered. If you do not fill out this form YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO DROP YOUR ADVANCED CLASS. You will then notify your teacher that you are requesting to drop their course and ask them to fill out their form that acknowledges the request and gives their input. Once these forms are completed, both Mrs. O’Loughlin and Dr. Downs will meet with you to counsel your decision and they will then either approve or deny your request. To drop a TCC Dual Credit course, you will need to contact Mrs. O’Loughlin directly. Otherwise, here is the form for dropping Advanced Academics:

Here is the teacher portion of the drop form:

These forms will also be available on the Counselor’s Corner webpage via the CHS website: http://chs.castleberryisd.net/students/counselor

The deadline for all schedule change requests is 3:00 pm on December 18, 2020.

Kind regards,

CHS Counseling Team
