Band

Program Overview

The band program at Castleberry High School currently serves 175+ students who participate in marching band, concert bands, jazz band, large and small chamber ensembles, and color guard. The Castleberry Band thrives on its strong booster, administrative, and community support.

Marching Band

All students in the varying concert ensembles combine to form the Castleberry marching band. Participation in the marching band is required of students. A more detailed discussion of the marching band program, including requirements, attendance, rehearsal schedules, football games, parades, marching competitions, etc. is found in the handbook.

Concert Bands

Castleberry High School offers two levels of concert bands for students to participate.

Jazz Band

We have a jazz ensemble that meets as a class during the school day that is open by audition to any student in the band who plays a jazz instrument (saxophone, trombone, trumpet, piano, bass, guitar, drums, or approved) and is interested in expanding their musical skills and knowledge through this uniquely American musical idiom. Students in the Jazz Band are encouraged to audition for the All-Region Jazz Band. Required performances include the Christmas concert, the Spring concert, and scheduled jazz festival/contest performances in the spring.

Percussion Studio

The Percussion Studio is made up of percussionists from both Castleberry High School AND Irma Marsh Middle School. The information below provides some details about what the percussionists do in addition to playing with the bands.
