Joshua Perry, Director


Josh Perry is the Director of Bands for Castleberry ISD. He received his BME from Henderson State University and is in his 21st year as a music educator in the state of Texas. He has previously taught in Atlanta (TX), Sabine (TX), Longview (TX), Spring Hill (TX), and Red Oak (TX).

Under Mr. Perry's direction, the Spring Hill Junior High Band was a 5-time consecutive state finalist in the Outstanding Performance Series competition, including first place State Winner in 2014. He was an assistant director with the Spring Hill High School Marching Band when they performed at UIL State Marching Contest for the first 2 times in school history. Mr. Perry’s performing ensembles have consistently received the “Sweepstakes” award, with over 25 appearances at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest. He has been here in Castleberry for the last 2 years.

In his spare time, Mr. Perry’s interests include fitness, movies, and jazz. He is married to Andi Perry, who is an HR professional in the Dallas area. They enjoy cooking together, spending time with their dog, Sophie, and have been married for 22 years.

Wesley McCall, Assistant Director


Wesley McCall is the Assistant High School Band Director for Castleberry ISD. He received Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Education and Oboe Performance from the University of North Texas, and a Master of Music degree in Conducting from Pennsylvania State University. He is in his seventh year as a music educator in the state of Texas. Prior to joining the Castleberry team in 2020, Mr. McCall served as a successful middle school and high school band director for other programs in the D/FW metroplex.

In addition to teaching, Mr. McCall serves as the Director of Music for Trinity United Methodist Church in Duncanville, a position he has held since March 2016. Mr. McCall has extensive experience working with bands, choirs, and orchestras in both church and summer music festival settings throughout the United States.

Mr. McCall lives in Saginaw with his wife, Jenna McCall, who is set to graduate from the University of North Texas in December 2021 with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Clarinet Performance. They love to travel, especially to experience the foods, music, and cultures of each new place they visit. They have four fantastic felines: Rhapsody, Kyrie, Libby, and Artie.

Taylor Dwyer, Director of Percussion


Taylor Dwyer is in his second year as the Director of Percussion for Castleberry ISD. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Texas, with a concentration in percussion studies. Mr. Dwyer is in his ninth year of teaching. Before joining the Castleberry team, he served as Assistant Percussion Director for Lewisville HS, Duncanville ISD, and Cleburne ISD. He is an active clinician and adjudicator in the DFW Metroplex.

Mr. Dwyer lives in Fort Worth with his wife, Ash Dwyer who is a funeral director. In their free time, they enjoy cooking, watching movies, or getting outdoors. Together they have three dogs, Coco, Hilde, and Hopper, as well as three cats, Poe, Mister, and Alexis Rose.
