CookiesUnder the direction of Mrs. Wendy Ivey, Castleberry High School Culinary Arts students created poetry-inspired cookies for Castleberry Elementary's 5th grade poetry slam. Mrs. Huntley, 5th grade reading teacher, reported, “The cookies were delectable. It was neat seeing families coming to support their children performing in the middle of the school day. Parent support makes such a difference.” Mrs. Shelton, Castleberry Elementary Teacher Librarian, added, “I am proud of the fifth graders who had the courage to read a poem in front of their peers. I am very thankful for the support of Mrs. Ivey and the impressive culinary arts students who used their talents to make the poetry slam extra special.” CE Library assistant, Carolyn Janzen, was very impressed with the cookies as well. “The cookies were beautiful and very tasty. We are thankful to be able to display the high school students’ talents and encourage our students to consider culinary arts. We appreciate the cookies and the students very much.”
